Though I lived the first 60 years of my life in St. Paul, and moved to Roseville with my
husband 6yrs ago, my roots are very deep here. My grandparents were truck farmers here and were
charter members of St. Rose of Lima church. The Leben and Hermes families were close relatives. My
mother remembers picking "May flowers" in the meadow that is now my backyard on her way home from
Brimhall school. But beyond that, we are so proud and happy to live in this first ring suburb that has such a
respected reputation in the metropolitan community.

Rosevil!e has maintained it's integrity as city of neighborhoods that serve a variety of lifestyles. Young
families, retired folks, singleslive together in single family homes, condos, town homes, apartments. Well
maintained dwellings that suit those who love big yards and gardens to those who prefer a minimum of
outdoor space. What a lovely way for people to live!

Therefore, it is with great concern that there are those among us who would disturb this arrangement that
has endured for such a long time. Lot splitting in my mind, is nothing more than the greed of some with no
thought of the legacy they leave to the city that has served them so well.

One of the major reasons that I moved from St. Paul to Roseville, was to enjoy a larger lot, not only mine,
but to enjoy my neighbors more expansive views. My city home was very satisfactory, but I desired more
of the suburban life without moving away from the conveniences of shopping, work, less time driving, etc.,
that outer ring suburbs require. I believe strongly that I am not alone and that it would be a major error for
the City of Roseville to change any zoning laws that allow changes in how many dwellings could be built on
current properties as they now stand.

Most sincerely and strongly,

Patricia M.
