The purpose statement <br />is a guide emphasizing words like “designed to encourage” “should be organized”, and <br />“intended” as a means for the Community Development Department to promote the <br />standards or regulations that are found in the CMU District and/or the Regulating Plan of the <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br />1005.07CM-U(CMU)D <br />OMMUNITY IXEDSE ISTRICT <br />A.SP <br />TATEMENT OF URPOSE <br />The Community Mixed-Use District is designed to encourage the development or <br />redevelopment of mixed-use centers that may include housing, office, commercial, park, <br />civic, institutional, and open space uses. Complementary uses should be organized into <br />cohesive districts in which mixed- or single-use buildings are connected by streets, <br />sidewalks and trails, and open space to create a pedestrian-oriented environment.
