<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 24th day of November, <br />1997 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Mastel, Goedeke, and Wall, and the <br />following were absent: Wiski. <br /> <br />Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 9486 <br /> <br />Increasing the Fire Pensions Subject to Improvements in the <br />Fire Pension Board Fund Management <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Roseville Fire Relief Association Board has requested an increase in the <br />Fire Pensions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City Council believes the Fire Relief request for an Increase is <br />reasonable; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Funding the benefits of the Fire Pension is the responsibility of the Board's <br />Fund Management, the State of Minnesota through its State Aid, and the Taxpayers of the <br />City of Roseville; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, If shortfalls, losses, or unfunded liabilities occur, the Roseville Property <br />Taxpayers are obligated to increase their taxes to solve the funding problems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, State Statutes require the City Council, by its authority in approving <br />increases, to assure the proper management of all pension funds; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, intends to amend Section 106.12 of the City Code to increase the pension <br />amounts for the Roseville Fire Fighters as follows: <br /> <br />Service pension amount payable per month for each year <br />Lump sum service pension amount payable for each year of service <br /> <br />$23.00 <br />$2,300.00 <br /> <br />and <br />
