Lake Owasso School Site <br />1. The Guiding Change document was updated to reflect discussion (see Attachment 1). <br /> 2. Preliminary thoughts on representation needed in the group to review options for <br />property: <br /> • Citizens, including underrepresented groups <br /> • Cities within the boundaries of the District <br /> • Seniors <br /> • Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br /> • District and City staff liaisons or representatives <br /> 3. Superintendent Thein and City Manager Malinen will work together to develop <br />outcomes for the group, structure, and composition <br /> • Tentative timeline - group to complete work April 2013 <br /> • School Board Decision prior to referendum Nov. 2013 <br />Senior Programming <br /> 1. Needs and services are changing for seniors. New needs are developing. The NSSC <br />survey underway will help provide insight <br /> 2. Opportunity is for the city and board to address gaps and growth needs. There is no <br />duplication of services <br /> 3. Many options moving forward <br /> • Need to involve other cities and seniors in other areas <br /> • NSSC is going out to other cities – school board potentially joins visits <br />4. Fall update to Board on senior programming <br />Strategic Plans <br /> 1. Areas of opportunity for coordination and partnering <br /> • Equity broadly, with a few specific ideas mentioned: <br /> – Keep each other abreast of demographic changes <br /> – City Council to complete the IDI and possibly diversity training <br /> – Shared resources for connections into communities – possibly Cultural liaisons <br /> • Facilities – City to share expertise as district embarks on long-term <br /> facilities planning <br /> • Youth leadership – RAHS students and community <br /> 2. A sub-group will be formed to develop Equity area for moving forward. <br /> <br />
