He suggested the youth commissioners or the Commission narrow the list--or prioritize it-- <br />187 to three or four recommended topics, adding however, that he would submit to the LMHRC <br />188 whatever they agreed upon. Chair Grefenberg asked that they send their final recommendations to <br />189 him and he would-submit them to the next LMHRC meeting. <br />190 <br />191 Other Items: Youth Commissioner Siliciano reviewed a handout entitled Youth Cornmissioners' <br />192 proposal fo� Youth Discussions. Siliciano said the idea was to develop a youth discussion group in <br />193 Roseville. Ideas included meeting at different restaurants, providing pizzas or having potluck. They <br />194 thought buying pizzas would be the best way to encourage participation. They asked that the <br />195 Commission fund two discussions and then gauge the effectiveness. <br />196 <br />197 <br />198 <br />199 <br />200 <br />201 <br />202 <br />203 <br />204 <br />205 <br />Chair Grefenberg asked about the current budget, noting there the LMHRC asked the City to host <br />their September 2012 meeting and the April 2013 Essay Contest lunch ar reception for the state- <br />wide winners meetings. <br />Staff Financial Report <br />Carolyn Curti reviewed the budget, stating that the bill for $220 for Cafe Zia was not included yet. <br />That brings the total expenditure for the year to approximately $800, with $1,200 remaining. <br />206 Chair Grefenberg said the League's September meeting in Roseville may include providing lunch <br />207 for about 10 people. The Apri12013 meeting would be the celebration to honor the essay contest <br />208 winners. Commissioners had questions about the number of attendees and cost sharing which Chair <br />209 Grefenberg said he would raise with the League's Board of Directors. <br />210 <br />211 <br />212 <br />213 <br />214 <br />Commissioners agreed by consensus to host the September 2012 League meeting, but asked for <br />more information before deciding to host the Apri12013 Essay Contest event. <br />Commissioner poneen moved and Commissioner Groff seconded motion to allocate up to $75 per <br />215 youth discussion group meeting to cover the cost of pizza and refreshments. Motion prevailed <br />216 unanimously. Chair Grefenberg questioned the total cost and asked the Youth Commissioners to <br />217 keep the costs down. <br />218 <br />219 <br />220 <br />221 <br />222 <br />223 <br />224 <br />225 <br />226 <br />227 <br />228 <br />229 <br />230 <br />Future Agenda Items <br />Chair Grefenberg said the Civic Engagement Task Force plans to have their final report available at <br />the August HRC meeting. <br />Announcements <br />Commissioner Thao said that on July 25-27, the Rosetown Playhouse is putting on a play called <br />"Twist of Fate." The play is about the local Karen community. She encouraged members to attend. <br />Commissioners agreed to cancel the July 18, 2012 Human Rights Commission meeting. <br />
