The Administration Department provides a diverse range of services and staffing levels are <br />projected to increase to fully support all the responsibilities and goals as outlined by the City <br />Council. Current responsibilities include: <br /> <br />Making all personnel policies, procedures, negotiations and interpretations. <br /> <br />· <br />Ensuring enforcement of laws and ordinances. <br /> <br />· <br />Conducting studies and making recommendations for Council consideration. <br /> <br />· <br />Providing information to the community about activities, programs and services in the <br /> <br />· <br />City. <br />Directing the City’s solid waste and recycling programs. <br /> <br />· <br />Planning, oversight, and development of all organizational human capital <br /> <br />· <br />Directing citywide personnel matters <br /> <br />· <br />Assisting Ramsey County with Elections. <br /> <br />· <br /> <br />Goals and Priorities <br />The Administration Department’s long-term goals and priorities have been established in <br />conjunction with IR2025, City Council directives, and the Department’s mission and overall <br />vision. The City Council established its directives earlier this year and will have significant <br />influence on the development of the Department’s Strategic Plan. In total, there were fifteen City <br />Council directives that were applicable to this Plan. They include: <br /> <br /> <br />Model better environmental stewardship <br />· <br /> <br />Explore ways to improve sustainability through purchases and practices, and apply <br />· <br />sustainable methods to areas where appropriate <br /> <br />Develop better strategies and plans for supporting our senior community (Short term-task <br />· <br />force) (Long term-strategies) <br /> <br />Develop better connections between city government, school districts, and public and <br />· <br />private providers of services to those in need in our community <br /> <br />Discuss and implement an ongoing community driven visioning process <br />· <br /> <br />Discuss and evaluate Council goals and directives for existing city commissions and <br />· <br />explore the potential of newly created commissions and boards (i.e. Park Board/Park <br />District & Finance Commission) <br /> <br /> Support initiatives to better communicate with local businesses and 2025 vision to <br />· <br />continue to recognize and incent the spirit of "volunteer" within Roseville <br /> <br />Routinely seek community input to evaluate and continuously improve city services <br />· <br /> <br />Support city-wide record management system to accurately and electronically create, <br />· <br />store and retrieve documents <br />Support Volunteer Management Program <br />· <br />Actively pursue a local options sales tax <br />· <br />Support Human Rights Commission's efforts on civic engagement and neighborhoods <br />· <br />Improve Communications with residents (Newsletter; Newspaper; E-communications; <br />· <br />Mailings) <br />4 <br /> <br />
