Action/Discussion Items 15 16 a.Redevelopment Guide from Urban Land Institute 17 For information purposes only, Executive Director Patrick Trudgeon provided a copy of the 18 (Re)Development Ready Guide, presented at a recent meeting of the Regional Council of 19 Mayors. Mr. Trudgeon advised that the document was provided as information to the HRA 20 since it supported some of the proposed goals and objectives of the 2012 – 2016 Strategic Plan. 21 22 Chair Maschka opined that the checklist included in the guide was beneficial, and suggested 23 that it be incorporated with the Roseville HRA’s Strategic Plan document. 24 25 Mr. Trudgeon concurred; and noted that the guide provided suggestions for proactive steps, 26 often requiring consideration of the challenge of taking risks and spending dollars. 27 28 HRA Housing Program Manager Jeanne Kelsey noted that both she and Mr. Trudgeon were 29 members of the ULI, and that she served on their Advisory Committee, meeting on a bi- 30 monthly basis. 31 32 b.Strategic Plan 33 Executive Director Patrick Trudgeon briefly reviewed the latest rendition of the updated 2012- 34 2016 DRAFT Strategic Plan for HRA review and comment. Mr. Trudgeon noted that this was 35 intended as a DRAFT to be used for discussion purposes as the upcoming joint meeting of the 36 HRA and City Council scheduled for July 23, 2012; with the intent that the majority of that 37 discussion will revolve around the updated DRAFT Strategic Plan and Implementation Plan to 38 obtain City Council feedback on the future direction of the HRA in meeting the goals of 39 citizens of Roseville. 40 41 Ms. Kelsey suggested that the HRA, at tonight’s meeting, take action to cancel the regular July 42 17, 2012 HRA meeting, with the joint meeting of the HRA/City Council to serve as the July 43 meeting. 44 45 Specific to revisions since the last HRA discussion, Mr. Trudgeon referenced the Mission 46 Statement to initiate feedback. 47 48 nd Member Majerus questioned the intent of the 2 bullet point in addressing a sense of 49 community in a large-scale context. 50 51 Ms. Kelsey advised that the intent of that statement was to recognize unique neighborhoods 52 within larger scale opportunities, as suggested by Member Lee; providing a thoughtful process 53 for development as part of a neighborhood or to maintain a sense of individual communities or 54 neighborhoods within a broader community. 55
