Goals & Priorities <br />The Public Works Department's long -term goals and priorities have been established in <br />conjunction with IR2025, City Council Goals, and the Department's mission and overall vision. <br />The City Council goals, which were established earlier this year, have influenced the <br />Department's Strategic Plan. In total, there were eleven City Council Goals that were applicable <br />to this plan. They include: <br />City Council Goals <br />➢ Develop Neighborhood Traffic Management Policy <br />➢ Model better environmental stewardship <br />➢ Explore and implement tiered water & sewer rate structure for residential & commercial <br />➢ Ordinance Updates, Shore Land and Erosion Control <br />➢ Develop Overhead Electric Undergrounding Policy <br />➢ Explore ways to improve sustainability through purchases and practice. Apply <br />sustainable methods to areas where appropriate <br />➢ Improve walk ability of neighborhoods by continuous additions of trails and sidewalks <br />➢ Continue to lobby for the Northeast Diagonal transportation corridor <br />➢ Develop a build -out plan for existing pathway master plan and Parks and Recreation <br />Master Plan pathway components, connect multi family to bus stops and school crossings <br />(on the same side of the street as the complex). <br />➢ Participate in regional transportation efforts to ensure adequate regional resources are <br />allocated to transit and transportation infrastructure to serve Roseville needs <br />Based on these items, along with the Department's own objectives, the Public Works <br />Department's Goals & Priorities are shown below. <br />Public Works Department Goals & Priorities <br />1) Support high levels of customer service <br />2) Invest in People to Promote Employee Excellence <br />3) Increase Effectiveness and Efficiency <br />4) Enhance Partnerships <br />5) Invest in Infrastructure <br />6) Respect our Environment <br />High expectations have been set by these goals and priorities. It is expected that every employee <br />perform at a consistently high level to contribute to the success of the Department, as well as the <br />entire City. <br />
