The following requirements shall <br />apply to ali recreational fires: <br />1. The minimum distance to a structure or property line shall be twenty-five <br />feei (25'). <br />2. The maximum permitted size shall be three feet (3'} in diameter. <br />3. The permitted fuels — charcoal or one inch (1 ") minimum diameter wood, <br />no trash or garden residue. <br />4. The maximum duration shall be four (4) hours. <br />5. No combustible materials shall be placed within a three foot (3'} radius of <br />fire. <br />6. The f re shall be constantly attended by a responsible adult. <br />7. A means of exiinguishing the fire shall be present (such as a garden hose <br />or a fire extinguisher). <br />8. Recreational fires shall be used for cooking, social or recreational <br />purposes. Disposing of trash, debris, grass, tree trimmings, or similar <br />materials shall not be allowed. <br />Permits Required: It shall be the duty of the Fire Chief and/or Fire Marshal to <br />investigate requests for and to issue open burning permits for the purposes stated <br />in subsection B. <br />Institutional Recreation Burning Permits: The ' <br />Fire Chief and/or Fire Marshal may issue institutional recreatzon burning permits <br />for schools, social clubs and other organizations, in situations where unique <br />circumstances preclude the ability of the institution to meet the standards of the <br />Code.
