Mr. Houke opined that the most recent newspa- <br />per article made the City Iook bad; and requested a public explana-- <br />tion. <br />3} Mr. Houck expressed concern as Chair of the Police Commission, <br />that in the list of ineetings at the end of tonight's agenda, there was <br />no mention of the Commission's August 2, 2007 meeting, but an- <br />nounced the upcoming meeting. <br />i. Discussion — Djscuss Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />(HRA) Appointment Process <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Councilmember Roe for his patience with <br />the HRA Appointment process item, noting that discussion had been <br />postponed several times. <br />28 Councilmember Thtan opined that, in light of the late hour and lack of <br />29 urgency of this item, discussion and potential decisions should be <br />30 made at a later date to allow for good policy discussion. <br />31 <br />32 Councilmember Roe noted the timeframe, if the City Council were <br />33 following existing adviso�ry commission appointment processes, as de- <br />34 tailed on line 34 of his memorandum dated June 5, 2007, the process <br />35 should have started at a staff level on approximately June 11, 2007 to <br />35 facilitate the HRA Board term exp�ration date of September 27, 2007. <br />37 Councilmember Roe advised that it was his intent to clarify the appli- <br />38 cation and appointment process for the pubiic, and to avoid offending <br />39 anyone during the appointment process. <br />
