(Code "1984, Sec 22 32 Coiii illtilloiin The park board shall be composed of seven members who shall be residents of the city and shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the council. The terms of no more than three members shall expire in any one year. No park board member whose initial term begins in the year 2003 or thereafter shall serve more than four consecutive terms. (b) Two new park board members shall be appointed beginning in the year 2003, with the initial term of one board member being one year and of the other board member being two years. Thereafter, the two board members shall be appointed for the full term. (c) At the expiration of each term one member shall be appointed to fill each of the expired terms for a term of three years. All appointees to the park board shall hold their offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies occurring during the term shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term. (d) Every member shall before entering upon the discharge of his duties take an oath to faithfully discharge the duties of the office. Each member shall be paid $125.00 per calendar quarter for each full quarter of service. (e) As additional compensation, the city council may by resolution or motion authorize the expenditure of city funds to host business or social functions for members, which functions may include food and beverage service. The city council is the sole determiner of whether such additional compensation is warranted, and such compensation need not be offered equally to all members.
