marsh. A swale was subsequer�tly excavation after the 1970's to drain the wetland and convert it <br />from a shallow marsh to a scasonally flooded basin. Currently reed canary Qrass, Canacta thistle, <br />burdock, and goldenrod dominatc this basin. Other species include red-osier do�wood, <br />buckthorn, cottor�wood, boxelder, Siberian elm, Kentucky bluegrass, timothy, wheatgrass, <br />American elm, and riverbank grape. Restoration of this wetland can be accomplished with a <br />berm and s�illway across the swale. <br />Community CP-W8 <br />Wet Meadow <br />Qualitat'rve Rank: Medium/Low <br />Area: 0.6 acres <br />Most of this wetland is an excavated drainage way that flows from W 11 into W9 and then into <br />Lake Owasso. h widens out near the woodchip trail bctween ihis basin and W9 and at this <br />location a mud flat having up to three feet of standing water was observed. Vegetation observed <br />at this location is reed canary �rass, bur-marigold, arrowhead, pale smartweed, nut sedge, cattail, <br />water plantain, and heart-leaved tearthumb. <br />Comrr�unity CP-W9 <br />Shailow Marsh <br />Qualitative Ranic: Medium <br />Area: 0.2 acres <br />This basin is a continuation of the drainage way into Lake Owasso. It receives hydrology from <br />the two inlets 3'rom WS and also strcet drainage from an 18-inch RCP. There is some <br />sedimentation near the inlets.
