Currently this wetland has high waterfo�vl and wildlife values duc to the snags and open water. <br />This wetland should be monitored to determine additional expansion of water levels. It is rare to find thiss plant <br />corr�munity in southern Minnesota. Plant species included in this basin include steeplebush, <br />purplc loosestrife, marsh fern, violet, sphab urn moss, hog birch, reed canary grass, dogwood, <br />cattail, leather leaf and blue flag iris. <br />Purple loosestrife has begun to become one of the dorninant plants in portions of the wetland and <br />buckthorn is common along thc ed�c. Currently Victoria Street is a n�ral section along this <br />portion of the basin with no curb and gravel shoulders. Untreated street draina�e is likely <br />impacting the piant community of this hasin.
