Hydrology primarily comes From a
series of culverts that drain into a ravine further upslope. Nationai Wetlands Inventory lists this
basin as a PEM/SS1G, but currently it is more characteristic of a PEMA_ The wetiand is usuaily
dry except durin snow melt in-the sprin and after heavy rain events. Because of the siope in the
wetland, hydroloy is not sustained for a sufficient period of timc for the wetland to be
dominated by plant species typicai of vetlands. It was observed that upland species are
colonizin this basin due to the lack of hydrooQy. Dominant vegetatzon is mostly agressive
species such as reed canary grass, nettle, thistle, burdock, baxelder, elm, and cottonwood. Thc
southern portion of the basin is off of park pzoperty, so buildin a berm to restore hydroioy may
he difficult.
Community Activity .'= ; Friprity ,"::  ' stimatedCost Commen[s ,•. = '`
,. . _ _ .
RW-Wk Restore Medium $800.00 A small berm could create to restore the
hydrolocy with hydroloy o£ this wetEand.
berm
RW-W Plant with native Irow $00.00 Enhance «etland with plntins_
to restore wet
meadow
Cih of Kosevifle 134
1'arks IVcrtiral Resource Maiagentent
