Roseville Civil Service Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 7, 2000 <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm. <br />Members Present: Bob King, Jed Ipsen, and Jack Weidenbach. <br />Others Present: Police Chief Paul Wood and Deputy Police Chief Tom Afleva. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes of the December 20, 1999 meeting were distributed for approval. Commissioner King <br />moved for approval of the minutes. Commissioner Weidenbach seconded. Motion passed. <br />Minutes of the November 24, 1999 me�ting were distributed for approva{. Commissioner King <br />moved for approval of the minutes. Commissioner Ipsen seconded. Motion passed. <br />I ► I �'�'� -��l�y I ► I �-'�-'� <br />Election of Civil Service Commission Officers. Commissioner Ipsen will become #he Chair, <br />Commissioner Weidenbach wilE become Vice Chair and Commission King will become <br />Secretary. Commissioner King moved the election be accepted. Commissioner Weidenbach <br />seconded. Mo#ion passed. <br />Civif Service Commission Rules Revision. Deputy Chief Alleva reviewed potential changes <br />with the Commission. The changes related mainly to changing entry levei register to one year, <br />the promotion register ta one year, introducing a cadet program, clarifying the start of probation, <br />allowing the Chief to make temporary appointments to 90 days and adding Lieutenant to the <br />classification of positions. A final draft will be distributed to the Commission for final approval at <br />the next meeting. <br />Extension of Sergeants Eligibility Roster. The current roster originated in March of 1999, <br />and wili expire March of 2001. The Commissioners agreed that if the promotion eligibility roster <br />is reduced from two years to one year that the current list will remain in effect until expiration in <br />2001. <br />Review of Internal Hiring Process. Chief Wood gave a brief review of the internal hiring <br />process which commenced with a job announcement posting on February 1, 2000. The <br />Commission briefly reviewed a recent disciplinary action. <br />Commissioner Ipsen moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 pm. Commissioner Weidenbach <br />seconded.
