The ianguage change would efimiate the AA degree
requiremenfi for officers with ten years af experience with the City of Roseville.
The change would enable officers who joined the force prior to the reqirement of
an AA degree for licensure to test for the sergeant position. The Chief noted that
a similar decision was made with regard to the lieutenant position to enable
sergeants withot an AA degree to test.
Qlson proposed an alternative language cFange that would clarify ihat the
exception would only be made for Roseville officers hired prior to the AA
requirement.
King recommended #hat the test be opened to the officers hired prior to the AA
requirement, but that no change to the job description be made until the
Commission had an opportunity to thoroughly review the educatian requrements
for all positions.
