20. Performs other duties as required or directed. <br />*21. Represents the Chief of Police at meetings, operational emergencies, co�munity <br />events, Council Meetiugs, and management sessions as necessary. <br />* Denotes EssentiaC Job Responsibility <br />KNOWLE GE S L A IL S R D <br />Ability to plan, develop, prioriti�ze, organize and direct the activihes as consistent with <br />division programs within the overall structure of the Departmeut in order to meet stated <br />gaals and objectives. <br />Considerable knowledge of police pr'rnciples, practices, procedures, purposes, tools, <br />techuiques, and equipment, especially as appGcable to duties and assignraents. <br />Considerable knowledge of relevant Iaws, rules and regulations, <br />Ability to do long range planning and budgeting under the gen�eral direction of the Chief. <br />Kuowledge of Labor Relations. <br />Knowiedge of City personnel regulations, and basic personnel management concepts. . <br />Ability to safely and properly use firearms and marked equipped squad cars. <br />Ability to apply police principles, practices and procednres consistently and fairly. <br />Ability to estabIish and maintain effecfive working relationsh�ps with others, both inside <br />and outside the Departmeu� <br />Considerable ability to supervise, instruct and review subordinates so as to effect full <br />performaace and retain high marale. <br />Ability to deal with the public using tact and courtesy. <br />AbiIity to withstand adverse weather condifions. <br />
