13. + I N ONS <br />Resignations shall be accomplished by giving the City Manager at least two weeks written <br />notice of such resignation with a copy of such ntotice to the Cammission and the Chief of <br />Police. In the event such notice is not given, the failure to give such natice may be <br />cansidered sufficient grounds for rejecting subsequent applications from the officer. <br />i4• � VES OF ABSENCE <br />Off cers shall be subject to the City of Raseville's Qrdinance reguIating leaves of absence. <br />�S- �XOFFS <br />a- Whenever the City Manager deems it necessary to reauce the total n ber of officers <br />�eree or-re�ne�the number of o�cers wit � a specified ciassificati�n, the City <br />Manager shall notify the Commission in writing giving the number of posirions in <br />eacl� job class to be vacated or reduced in rank. Thereafter, the Commission shall <br />furnish the names of the officers to be Iaid off or reduced in rank, The order of layoff <br />or reduction in rank shall be based upon seniority in the job ciass with the officer <br />lowest in seniority in rank Iaid off or reduced first. <br />, <br />� . Where <br />possible, this section shall be interpreted in a manner cansistent with applicable <br />col�ective bargaining a�eements. <br />b. The names of Officers who have been laid aff shall be placed on a layoff recail <br />regtster based upon their seniority with the officer having the longest seniority being <br />recalled first. The life of this register shall be rivo years. <br />�. In the case of o�cers reduced in rank, upon such reduction the officer will be <br />retumed to the rank and seniority in rank from which previously promoted and <br />placed at the top of the promotion register for the rank from which reduced, for a <br />period of one year. <br />16. S SPEN I NS <br />For disciplinary purposes, or pen�ing investigation of the actions or conduct wliich may <br />result in a cause %r discharge or reduction, in accordance with the Departments' Rules and <br />Regulations, th� City Manager, the Chief of Police or Cammission shall have the power to <br />suspend, with or without pay, any empIayee for a period not exceeding sixTy (60) days. As <br />soon after the suspension as possible, the Chief of Police shall notify the Commission in <br />� <br />
