Original appointments shall be followed by a probatianary period of twelve months <br />co en " on t dat of h' e. Durizig such probationary period the City Manager, <br />after setting forth his or her reasons in writing to the Commission, may terminate the <br />probationary police off cer with the approval o£ the Commission. <br />b. Promotions shall be followed by a probationary periad of twelve months <br />commencing upon assumption of the new rank. During the prot�ationary periad the <br />City Manager, after stating his or her reasons in writing ta the Commission, may <br />rescind the promotion with the approval of the Commission. The officer shall <br />thereafter be reinstated to his or her former position. <br />�• When a Deputy Chief who has been appointed to that position from another posi�ion`' <br />on the Roseville Police Deparhnent resi is �errt�#� �e position of Deputy Chief, <br />he or she tnay be reinstated to h�/her �ke�former position on the Roseville Palice <br />Depar�ent, by the City Manager, in the City Manager's sole discretian. Upon <br />reinstatemen�, the former Depury Chief shall receive seniority equal to the seniority <br />he or she had at the time of promotion to Deputy Chief, with no furtber seniority <br />accruing during the tenure as Depuiy Chief. <br />SFERS <br />A lateral movement within the department &om one position in a ciassification to another <br />position in the same classification shall be deemed a transfer.
