The presentation included a breakdown
of four categories in which PDI would proceed with testing.
The first category is an interview situation where PDI would
ask the candidate to tell them about themselves.
Caegoxy No. 2 is testing, which would be validated
situational judgment testing. This is with a comman sense
approach--situations that real police officers face, which
would show how they exercise pxofessional judgment, and how
they would handle interpersonal situations.
The third category is a simulatzon which wouZd have the
candidates show you how they woud handle situations. Thzs
is done through a process called an "in basket", which is
done on paper, a lzve situation which is interacting with
probZems with suboz-dinates, and through an interview
approach.
The fourth category would be getting references by asking
other people and have others evauate them.
