She questioned if e�-e€ the Fire Department <br />493 was making a bay available for SWAT. City Manager Malinen said currently, SWAT equipment <br />494 was stored at Fire Station 2. <br />495 <br />496 Ms. Moen asked if the City was large enough that it required a SWAT team. Police Chief <br />497 Mathwig said the SWAT truck was a regional asset funded by federal grants. This asset served <br />498 the region, not just the City of Roseville. <br />499 <br />500 Chair Grefenberg also thanked all for participating in the conversation this evening. He <br />501 encouraged the neighbors to continue working with the police department and the HRC on their <br />502 concerns. He thought it would be helpful for a future meeting between the police department <br />503 and the neighborhood to improve community relations. He stated this was the beginning of the <br />504 discussion on this issue and he believed the City would continue to work through these issues. <br />505 He thanked Police Chief Mathwig for attending this evening, and for addressing the concerns of <br />506 the public and for continuing the dialogue. <br />507 <br />508 The Commission took a brief �r��� recess. <br />509 <br />510 Review of Civic Engagement Task Force Report: Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner <br />511 Doneen seconded a motion to pass a resolution thanking the Civic Engagement Task Force for <br />512 their work, expressing the HRC's appreciation, and forwardi� te C—e�-the Task Force's <br />513 Report to the City Council for its consideration. <br />514 <br />515 Commissioner Thao questioned if a time �had been-set for �€ ^°'°�� celebrating and <br />516 recognizing the work of the Task Force. Chair Grefenberg stated a time had not yet been set for <br />517 *'�° ^°'°'�r°*�^� this event, � and would be done at a later date. <br />518 <br />519 <br />520 <br />521 <br />522 <br />523 <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Old Business <br />None. <br />524 Future Agenda Items <br />525 Chair Grefenberg commented that Commissioner Kevin Lindsey of the Minnesota Department <br />526 of Human Rights would attend the October 17th meeting. He noted he would need an hour to an <br />527 hour and a half of time. The meeting time may have to be moved up. <br />528 <br />529 Announcements <br />53o Chair Grefenberg stated there would be a House Party to raise funds far Minnesota United on <br />531 Sunday, September 23rd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. City staff had additional information on <br />532 this fundraiser. He noted two of the honored guests �N��were the youth commissioners. <br />533 <br />534 <br />535 <br />536 <br />Chair Grefenberg stated a parenting forum would be held on September 20th at 5:45 p.m. at the <br />Shoreview Office of the Minnesota United for All Families. Parenting values would be <br />discussed in the context of the proposed constitutional amendment. <br />
