Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />September 19, 2012 — Revised Draft Minutes <br />Page 2 of 13 <br />47 <br />48 Chair Grefenberg indicated he had some recent health issues and �p��� expressed his <br />49 appreciation that Commissioners Doneen and Singleton � had stepped in to �i�finalize <br />50 the By-Laws and �g� meet with �police department officials. <br />51 <br />52 <br />53 <br />54 <br />55 <br />Committee Reports <br />Program Planning Committee <br />Parameters for Future Programs: Committee Chair Kris Doneen stated the document now <br />56 before the �E Commission entitled Addendum (A) for By-Laws: Prograin Planning <br />57 Para�neters �g stipulated that there were a lot of ways for the HRC to support events and <br />58 programming �� *'�° ^^����r�*��. She indicated this document had been reviewed bv the <br />59 Commission ���ke-� and asked that any commen�s or questions � be brought to her <br />60 attention. � Her Committee's intent was to have the parameters included in the HRC By-Laws <br />61 �� to distinguish between programs that were supported, sponsored or *'�^�° *'�^* .=�°r° <br />62 promoted by the HRC. <br />63 <br />64 Chair Grefenberg thanked Chair poneen for the report. He indicated the event on October 9th <br />65 discussing Voter ID's in Maplewood was a sponsored event as the HRC donated $50 to the <br />66 event. <br />67 <br />68 Further discussion ensued regarding the differences between sponsoring, supporting, and <br />69 promoting events. In response to a question Committee Chair poneen noted there �could <br />�o be events that *'�°��would both be sponsored and promoted by the C� HRC. <br />71 <br />72 <br />73 <br />74 <br />75 <br />Commissioner poneen moved and Commissioner Jill Brisbois seconded a motion to approve the <br />Parameters for Future Programs. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Outreach Committee <br />76 Commissioner Wa,yne Groff noted he had a conversation with 3e� Jon Brant, the�E Chair � <br />77 of the Maplewood Human Rights Commission. He indicated October 9t'' and October 23rd were <br />78 dates set for �r� rm^*�^r^' �°°*�r�� educational forums to discuss the Voter ID and Marriage <br />79 Amendment issues. Some speakers had been lined up, but they were still seeking <br />8o recommendations and encoura�ed Commission members to su��est suitable speakers. <br />81 <br />82 Commissioner Groff ^"°�� asked if a time had been set for the meetings. Commission Staff <br />83 Liaison �4s. Carolyn Curti noted the �g� forums would �e-#e� b�in at 7:00 p.m. and <br />84 � last approximately 2 hours. <br />85 <br />86 <br />87 <br />88 <br />89 <br />90 <br />91 <br />Chair Grefenberg asked if the Voter ID speakers were known. Commissioner Groff was <br />uncertain. <br />Commissioner poneen recommended the spealcer at the recent League of Women Voters <br />meeting, Joe Mansky. <br />
