Roseville Human Rights Commission <br />August 15, 2012 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />They hope to establish a monthly meeting and will work with Roseville Area High School minority <br />groups once school gets started. <br />Commissioner Dao brought a sample of information from the Secretary of State's ofiice about <br />voting rights. <br />Reappoint Youth Commissioners <br />Commissioner Thao moved and Commissioner Singleton seconded motion to reappoint youth <br />commissioners Dao and Siliciano to a year's term on the commission. Motion prevailed <br />unanimously. <br />Chair Grefenberg said that Youth Commissioner Kayo Kadir was going off the commission so it <br />was time to seek applications for a third youth commissioner. The Outreach Committee was <br />charged with promoting the application process. They encouraged the youth commissioners to get <br />involved in recruiting applicants. The Operations Committee will conduct interviews and <br />recommend appointment to the city council. <br />League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions <br />Chair Grefenberg reported that the LMHRC will meet on September 23 in Roseville. LMHRC asks <br />the host city to provide lunch. Commissioner Groff moved and Commissioner Thao seconded <br />motion spending up to $75 for lunch for the LMHRC monthly meeting. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Commissioners asked whether Commissioner McKenzie and Carolyn Curti could coardinate the <br />League lunch. <br />Financial Report <br />Commissioner Thao moved and Commissioner Singleton seconded motion to spend up to $250 for <br />the civic engagement task force reception. Motion passed unanimously. <br />New Business <br />Commissioner Thao asked about going to the Council to request additional money for HRC <br />activities. Commissioner Thao and Chair Grefenberg agreed to discuss this issue and bring back a <br />recommendation to the HRC with a proposed budget and rational for extra funding. <br />Future Agenda Items <br />Chair Grefenberg said the Civic Engagement Task Force report will be available for the September <br />meeting. <br />Chair Grefenberg also said Roseville resident Mary Lou Mohn and other citizens asked to meet with <br />the HRC at the September meeting to discuss how the police react to disabled people. <br />
