Consider Currency Exchange License Renewal for 2013: Pawn America <br /> Minnesota,LLC <br /> Mr. Paschke advised that, as a part of the process for license renewal by a cur- <br /> rency exchange, under MN Statutes, Chapter 53A.04 requires that the Depart- <br /> ment of Commerce submit the application to the municipal governing body in <br /> which the entity conducts business for that municipality to conduct a Public <br /> Hearing and render a decision regarding renewal within sixty (60) days. Mr. <br /> Paschke noted that the process and additional information was detailed in the <br /> RCA dated October 22, 2012. <br /> Mr. Paschke advised that staff was recommending renewal, based on their anal- <br /> ysis, and recognizing that no concerns or issues had been raised with this opera- <br /> tion over the last year. <br /> Mayor Roe opened and closed the Public Hearing at approximately 6:40 p.m.; <br /> with no one appearing for or against <br /> 12. Business Items (Action Items) <br /> a. Currency Exchange License Renewal for 2013: Pawn America Minnesota, <br /> LLC <br /> Johnson moved, McGehee seconded, approval of the requests by Pawn America <br /> Minnesota, LLC, 1715 N Rice Street, Roseville, MN, to renew their licenses to <br /> operate currency exchange businesses in Roseville for the 1013 calendar year. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Johnson; Pust; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> b. Award Sale of Bonds <br /> Bench handouts, consisting of a revised Resolution, along with the Sale Docu- <br /> ment were provided for the record, based on the bid opening held earlier today. <br /> Finance Director Chris Miller advised that six (6) compliant bids had been re- <br /> ceived, with the lowest bid that of Piper Jaffray & Co. Mr. Miller noted that, <br /> while the purchase price exceeded $17 million, this was due to bidders, in the <br /> current bid environment bidding out at premium, indicating that they were will- <br />
