Regular Planning Commission Meeting
Minutes – Wednesday, May 02, 2012
Page 7
Mr. Paschke suggested that this could provide for a healthy discussion on whether a new
288
vision for Twin Lakes was needed; separate from zoning and other recent discussions,
289
subsequent to adoption of the 2009 Comprehensive Plan.
290
Chair Boerigter suggested that, even after completion of the map and plan, perhaps the
291
conversation needed to occur again.
292
Member Gisselquist advised that he wasn’t so much concerned about the process; but if
293
Wal-Mart didn’t proceed, additional discussion may be necessary to determine what
294
should develop there.
295
Chair Boerigter suggested that the Commission remain mindful of the deferred discussion
296
of the City Council with Wal-Mart developers, not slated until May 21, 2012, following this
297
joint meeting. Chair Boerigter advised that he would prefer that the discussion occur after
298
the May 21, 2011 City Council discussion.
299
Mr. Paschke advised that he would frame discussion points and e-mail Commissioners
300
for any feedback prior to the joint meeting. Mr. Paschke opined that, whether or not Wal-
301
Mart went forward, or if any other development occurred or didn’t occur, the same
302
questions would present themselves.
303
Member Boguszewski questioned if the City Council suggested any discussion points.
304
Mr. Paschke advised that they prefer to leave that up to the Planning Commission.
305
Discussion ensued regarding recent ordinance creation dealing with pawn shops from a
306
licensing component, with City Code amended to limit pawn shops to no more than one
307
(1) in the City of Roseville.
308
Member Gisselquist suggested another topic would be limiting on-sale liquor licenses to
309
no more than ten (10) and whether from a planning perspective, that limited some
310
development or redevelopment in the community.
311
6. Adjourn
312
With no further business to come before the Commission, Chair Boerigter adjourned the meeting
313
at approximately 7:45 p.m.
314
