Discuss Pedestrian Activated Crosswalk Signal at Dionne Street and Lex- <br /> ington Avenue <br /> Councilmember Johnson expressed his appreciation of the City Council's will- <br /> ingness to address this issue prior to the end of his Council term. Councilmem- <br /> ber Johnson reviewed the specifics of his safety concerns at this intersection; <br /> and specific examples he had witness of handicapped and/or senior pedestrians <br /> almost being hit at the intersection,basically due to the turn lane. Councilmem- <br /> ber Johnson noted that, in his discussions with the Public Works Department, <br /> they concurred that this intersection had received the most complaints and was <br /> considered the most dangerous walkway in Roseville. <br /> Councilmember Johnson opined that the City Council owed it to the community <br /> to be proactive and consider some type of solution, potentially an electronic <br /> crosswalk signal. Councilmember Johnson acknowledged that Lexington Ave- <br /> nue, as a roadway under Ramsey County jurisdiction, had reportedly been tested <br /> low on pedestrian crosswalks in the county. <br /> Councilmember Johnson advised that it was not his intent to point fingers at <br /> Ramsey County; and noted staffs intent to hold further discussions with the <br />
