Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />November 28, 2012 — Draft Minutes <br />Page 2 of 9 <br />48 Chair Grefenberg reported on his recent ��*����*�°� r^*�r^'�° m°* meetin� with the Gay/Straight <br />49 Alliance at the Roseville High School two weeks ago. He said he was �� impressed with <br />5o the s�e� students present and their commitment to �� the passing of the recent <br />51 marriage amendment. <br />52 <br />53 Chair Grefenberg also discussed a recent complaint filed with the City of Roseville regarding the <br />54 City and Commission's involvement with the constitutional � amendment on marria�e. <br />55 He noted �� the complaint was reviewed by the Ethics Commission last week and they <br />56 recommended the complaint be dismissed by the City CounciL The ^�°° ._�^° *'�°r a;°m;°°°�"��, <br />57 <br />58 <br />59 <br />60 <br />61 <br />62 <br />�City Council accepted their recommendation. <br />Future of Civic Engagement Task Force: Chair Grefenberg encouraged the members of the <br />Task Force present to join the Commission for this discussion, and invited them to sit at the <br />table. <br />63 Chair Grefenberg discussed *'�° ��*��N� ��the Civic Engagement Task Force's � <br />64 presentation � made to the City Council on October 22"d. He said the Council r°^^�m°ra°a <br />65 seemed to wish the work of the task force to ^���be continued,�� and asked the <br />66 Commission for a recommendation on the structure of the r�ou� °'�^��'a'�° ���*'�°r r°���°•��°a in <br />67 the future.. �s Grefenber� noted the group could continue in its present model as an advisory <br />68 group to the HRC or become an advisory group to the Council in the form of a Commission or <br />69 Task Force. <br />70 <br />71 Chair Grefenberg presented the Civic En�a�ement Report's Recommendations "At a Glance" to <br />72 the Commission members and then reviewed the ^�^^'� ^r�' ^'��°^+���°� proposed tasks of the Civic <br />73 Engagement Task Force in detail. u° �_ „'°�°°� � �;*'� *'^° « ^r'�'�°;„rt ^ N'°*°a'��� *'�° *�°'� <br />74 . <br />75 <br />76 Chair Grefenberg <br />77 <br />78 �g�e-��°r „��'�'�^ �r„��*. T�° explained there were several areas of overlap between the HRC and <br />79 the Civic Engagement Task Force, but that other areas �did not. He reviewed a handout he <br />80 had prepared on this issue and requested the Commission provide input on how to proceed with <br />81 this item and the Council's rec�uest for a recommendation..
