She questioned how this issue would be dealt with going <br />lol forward if the Civic Engagement Task Force were to become its own Commission. <br />102 <br />103 Chair Grefenberg was in favor of still involving people in human ri�hts awareness, � and this <br />104 would remain a human rights issue. The Civic Engagement group would focus more on actually <br />105 involving people in civic governance. He recommended the Civic Engagement Task Force <br />106 become a separate group, as it would allow more residents to become engaged in City policy. <br />107 He did not feel the HRC could do both areas well. <br />to8 <br />109 <br />110 <br />111 <br />�t2 <br />113 <br />114 <br />115 <br />116 <br />117 <br />Commissioner poneen asked why the group could not function under the HRC's "umbrella" as it <br />has been. <br />Chair Grefenberg stated if the group were to separate, it would allow them to grow and expand. <br />Ms. Ramundt explained � as a separate Commission the group would have more structure <br />and focus. He indicated <br />another forum could be held. He would like to see the group move on and continue its work for <br />the community. He explained he was not in favor of serving as the Chair of the Civic <br />Engagement Task Force, but would be willing to serve as a representative from the HRC. <br />Commissioner poneen supported the work being completed by the Civic Engagement Task <br />Force but wanted to be sure the group was not duplicating the tasks being done by the HRC. <br />135 Chair Grefenberg indicated this ueq stion would have to be reviewed, as there currently � <br />136 was some overlap. He proposed the HRC support the creation of a Civic Engagement Task <br />137 Force with representation from the HRC.
