RETHINKP9 <br />RECYCLING. <br />Achieving these Policy Plan objectives will require all solid waste stakeholders to <br />develop new solid waste strategies. The Policy Plan recognizes the need for new <br />ideas, suggesting that the Region define future expectations, outline roles and <br />responsibilities, and verify performance to reach the state objectives. <br />E. Opportunities <br />In 1999, the SWMCB and the MPCA conducted a waste composition study to <br />analyze MSW deposited at landfills and resource recovery facilities. In 2009, the <br />results of the 1999 study were combined with waste composition studies at three <br />resource recovery facilities. The studies show no significant changes in waste <br />composition over the past decade.
