areas well. <br />Commissioner Doneen asked why the group could not function under the HRC's <br />"umbrella" as it has been. <br />Chair Grefenberg stated if the group were to separate, it would allow them to grow <br />and expand. <br />Ms. Ramundt explained as a separate Commission the group would have more <br />structure and focus. She felt the work of both the Task Force and the HRC would be <br />enhanced. <br />Mr. Simbeck agreed stating he wanted the group to continue to build and grow. <br />Commissioner Singleton was in favor of having the group separate, but would like <br />more detail on the role and structure of how the group would report to the Council. <br />Commissioner Thao supported the group becoming its own entity. <br />Commissioner Groff asked if the residents of Roseville would have input on this <br />change. <br />Chair Grefenberg stated a public forum was held in October of 2011 on this matter. <br />He indicated another forum could be held. He would like to see the group move on <br />and continue its work for the community. He explained he was not in favor of <br />serving as the Chair of the Civic Engagement Task Force, but would be willing to <br />serve as a representative from the HRC. <br />Commissioner Doneen supported the work being completed by the Civic Engagement <br />Task Force but wanted to be sure the group was not duplicating the tasks being done <br />by the HRC. <br />Chair Grefenberg indicated this question would have to be reviewed, as there <br />currently was some overlap. He proposed the HRC support the creation of a Civic <br />Engagement Task Force with representation from the HRC. He recommended the <br />members then continue to consider the structure of this group. <br />Commissioner Doneen suggested the purpose, charge and objectives of the group be <br />discussed in the future to assure the groups continued to work together. <br />Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded a motion to <br />recommend the Council create a separate entity for the Civic Engagement Task Force <br />so as to allow the continuation of their neighborhood and community engagement. <br />Youth Commissioner Siliciano asked if the groups were to separate if each would <br />have their own budget. Chair Grefenberg responded this would be determined by <br />the Council. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Thao seconded a motion to recommend <br />the Council allow for representation from the HRC on the Neighborhood and <br />Community Engagement.
