Department Approval <br />�-�,�r p.�:e� <br />Item Description: <br />��� � <br />� <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 12/3/2012 <br />Item No.: 7.d <br />City Manager Approval <br />Authorize Fire Department & Allina Health Emergency Medical Services <br />Medical Direction and Oversight Agreement <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Fire Department provides medical first response to the community more than 3300 times <br />annually. Firefighters are trained to provide medical treatments including medications at the <br />Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level. Allina Health Emergency Medical <br />Services is the agent that has billing authority for emergency medical transportation within the <br />City of Rosevi]]e as agreed to provide the Fire Department service including medical oversight <br />and education. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />For services provided for medical oversight and education, Roseville Fire Department, through <br />the attached contract will pay Allina Health Emergency Medical Services the amount of $2625 <br />for combined cost for 2013 & 2014. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends council authorize the Fire Department to enter in to contract with Allina <br />Health Emergency Medical Services for medical oversight and education. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Authorize the Fire Department to enter into contract with Allina Health Emergency Medical <br />Services for medical oversight and education. <br />Prepared by: Timothy O'Neill, Fire Chief <br />Attachment A: Allina Agreement <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
