Department Approval <br />f;���. �:-�C� <br />Item Description <br />BACKGROUND <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: January 28, 2013 <br />Item No.: 7.1 <br />City Manager Approval <br />Approve Extension of Construction Management Services Contract <br />At the December 5, 2011 City Council meeting, approval was given to the Fire Department to <br />enter into contract for construction management services using Bossardt Corporation for Phase II <br />of the fire station project. Phase II of the project included all aspects of the project including all <br />work necessary for completion of the building including the warranty period. <br />Due to the unexpected delays in beginning the building commencement phase of wark which <br />was due to the pending litigation, there is a need to extend the original construction management <br />contract by five to six months. The current contract is set to expire at the end of Apri12013. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The contract extension allows far either a five or six month extension period depending on <br />completion schedule. The extension amount is $12,300 per month of service. <br />The funds necessary for this contract extension were part of the project amount approved by <br />Council during the August 13, 2012 Council meeting. No additional funding for construction <br />management services is necessary as a result of this extension. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends Council authorize a contract extension for Construction Management Services <br />with Bossardt Corparation in the amount of $12,300 per month far an extension period not to <br />exceed six months. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion to authorize a contract extension for Construction Management Services with Bossardt <br />Corparation in the amount of $12,300 per month for an extension period not to exceed six <br />months. <br />Prepared by: Timothy O'Neill, Fire Chief <br />Attachments: Contract Amendment <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
