He indicated their priorities at this time <br />were violence prevention, mental illness stigmatization, and cultural diversity, and then in a <br />secondar�priority cate�ory su�porting the pro�rams of others on gay rights and other human <br />rights issues. <br />Vice Chair Brisbois was pleased with the focus these priorities would provide to the Program <br />Planning Committee. <br />Chair's Report <br />154 Chair Grefenberg provided the members with his monthly report as contained in the <br />155 Commissioners' packet. He congratulated Commissioners Singleton and Becker for their <br />156 appointment to the group. He looked forward to working with these rea�pointed �� <br />� 57 Commissioners for the next three years. <br />158 <br />159 <br />160 <br />161 <br />162 <br />163 <br />164 <br />165 <br />166 <br />167 <br />168 <br />169 <br />170 <br />171 <br />172 <br />173 <br />174 <br />175 <br />176 <br />177 <br />Student Essay Contest <br />Commissioner Thao requested the Student Essay Contest item be discussed at this time, as she <br />had to leave the meeting early. <br />Ms. Curti provided the Commission with the 30 essays in need of scoring and requested the <br />members review the essays, score each according to the point scale and provide the scoring to <br />Staff by February 8. She noted the essays would be discussed further by the HRC at the <br />February 20 meeting. She explained a presentation would be made to the Council on March 18. <br />Chair Grefenberg reguested Commissioner Thao be present at the March 18 Council meeting for <br />the essay winner presentation and reception. He su�gested the Council �resentation follow the <br />same outline as last year, and asked the Youth Enga�ement Committee to plan for both the <br />rece�tion and �resentation. <br />Commissioner Thao � a�reed to assist with this �ae�rece�tion and presentation. <br />Chair's Report Continued <br />178 2013 Meeting Schedule: Chair Grefenberg commented the group should plan to meet the third <br />179 Wednesday of each month in 2013 given the projected workload. The group should also add to <br />18o their calendar the March 18 Council meeting, along with the Rose Parade. <br />181 <br />182 <br />183 <br />184 <br />185 <br />186 <br />187 <br />188 <br />Vice Chair Brisbois moved and Commissioner Becker seconded a motion to approve the 2013 <br />meeting dates as outlined in the packet. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Committee Assignments: Chair Grefenberg discussed the current standing committee <br />assignments and � members, referring the Commission to a list and description of current <br />HRC committees in their meeting packets. <br />
