<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 02/25/13 <br /> Item No.: 13.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Review the City’s Comp rehensive Performance Management Program <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />B ACKGROUND 1 <br />At the May 14, 2012 City Council mee ting, the Council adopted the City ’s comprehensive Performance 2 <br />Management Program. The Program incorporated the various initiatives the City has undertaken in the 3 <br />past several years that were desi gned to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of day-to-day 4 <br />operations while ensuring that the City’s long-term goals are met. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Those initiatives included; a 20-year visioning process, strategic planning, citizen survey, performance 7 <br />measurement, goal-setting, and a num ber of long-term financial and non -financial planning exercises. 8 <br />The initiatives are consistent with governmental best practices. 9 <br /> 10 <br />As we begin the next biennial cycle of the Progra m, it would be purposeful to revisit the Program’s 11 <br />goals and the important role it plays in the City’s long-term success. A PowerPoint presentation will be 12 <br />made at the Council meeting.
