Honorable Mentions were Eli Sailer-Haugland of Ramsey Area Middle <br />lol School taught by Cameron Johnson, Heather Knutson of Parkview tau h�t by Mr. Ebert, and <br />102 Olivia DiGiorno of Parkview taught by Mr. Ebert. <br />103 <br />104 Confirmation of Prizes: Vice-Chair Brisbois questioned how the Commission would like to <br />105 proceed with the essay prizes. She indicated Chair Grefenberg suggested the first place prize <br />to6 remain at $100, the second place prize be increased to $70, the third place award be $35 and the <br />107 honorable mention prize be $20. In addition, the school prizes would remain at $50. This would <br />108 be an increase of $40 total, Brisbois said. <br />109 <br />� t0 In response to a question from Commissioner Becker as to how the school prizes were utilized, <br />111 Commissioner Thao responded that the checks were deposited into the School DistricYs General <br />112 Fund. <br />113 <br />114 <br />115 <br />116 <br />117 <br />118 <br />ll9 <br />120 <br />121 <br />122 <br />Commissioner Groff supported this recommendation. <br />Commissioner Singleton moved and Commissioner Becker seconded a motion to approve the <br />essay prizes as recommended by Chair Grefenberg. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Planning of Reception and Council Presentation on March 18: Vice-Chair Brisbois asked if <br />the Youth Commissioners had begun planning the reception far March 18, as was discussed at <br />the last Commission meetin�. <br />123 Youth Commissioner Siliciano stated a reception would be held at City Hall with hors d'oeuvres, <br />124 desserts and beverages as this would simplify and reduce the expense of the event. <br />125 Commissioner Dao s��tgg� added the event could feature babv quiches, fruit salad, small <br />126 cupcakes, and other light refreshments. <br />127 <br />128 In response to a question from Staff Liaison Carolyn Curti, Youth Commissioner Dao indicated <br />129 that she thou�ht the rece�tion would be after the Council �resentation. It was clariiied the <br />130 reception would begin at 5:00 p.m. on March 18, prior to the Council presentation in order to <br />131 allow Council members to attend. <br />132 <br />133 Vice-Chair Brisbois commented $225 was spent on the reception last year. Ms. Curti anticipated <br />134 that $200 or less would be spent this year due to the fact an entire meal would not be provided. <br />135 <br />
