Ms. Curti estimated there would be 35-40 people in attendance. Siliciano added that she <br />thought $100 would be more than sufficient. <br />Commissioner Groff moved and Commissioner poneen seconded a motion to ��e�t� <br />authorize no more than $125 in HRC funds for the March 18 reception for the essay winners. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Vice-Chair Brisbois asked how many essays would be read at the Council meeting on March <br />18`h. <br />Commissioner poneen recommended the top three be read, with a summary provided for the <br />honorable mentions. <br />Commissioner Groff suggested that a variety of all six winning essays be read to show the <br />diversity of the topics. <br />Commissioner Dao su�gested that each of the winners read a part of their essa,ys, such as a <br />par�ph. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding how to divide the time between the top three essay winners <br />and honorable mention essay winners. <br />159 Commissioner Singleton recommended that the same process as last year be followed and that <br />� 60 the top three be read, with a summary of the Honorable Mentions read. He noted that the Council <br />161 sets the agenda and last ,year there was ten to fifteen minutes allocated to this item. <br />162 <br />163 <br />164 <br />165 <br />166 <br />167 <br />168 <br />169 <br />170 <br />Presidin� Chair Brisbois summarized the discussion that the Council presentation would proceed <br />as it did last year with someone summarizing the Honorable Mentions. <br />Youth Commissioner Dao said that Youth Commissioner Siliciano would not be able to be <br />present at the Council presentation; Dao offered to read the honorable mention summaries on <br />March 18. <br />Ee�e�-� <br />171 Apri127 League Luncheon Honoring State Winners in Roseville: Ms. Curti explained that <br />172 the Minnesota League of Human Rights Commissions �^�°���"° �_��� had selected Roseville as <br />173 its location for � a luncheon honoring the State essay winners. Carolyn Curti indicated the <br />174 event t��^��'a'�°'�°'�' on Saturday, April 27, would be held in the Council chambers. She <br />175 indicated she would have more information regarding the luncheon for the HRC in March at <br />l 76 which time a budget would have to be set. <br />177 <br />178 Various commissioners asked questions relating to the numbers of attendees, who would be the <br />179 host, and whether the costs of the luncheon would.
