March 20, 2013 <br />Item 7. a <br />Evaluation of 2012 Achievements <br />A. ✓Develop a process to assess city government activities, programs and <br />services for accessibility so that city activities, programs and services may <br />be understandable and responsive to a diverse citizenry. <br />� Coinpleted by the Commission's Neighborhood & Community Engagement Task <br />Force in the fall of 2012, with Cominission adoption on September 19, 2012 <br />� The Commission recommended to the Council that a separate Civic Engagement <br />Commission be established. <br />B. Continue and build upon current programs and diversity dialogues with a <br />focus on local and state issues. Purpose is to encourage recognition and <br />respect for civil and human rights, and mutual understanding and <br />appreciation_ � on the community's diversity. <br />� Signifzcant work achieved on programming on local and state issues with four <br />programs and one forum on state constitutional amendments. <br />� Rega�ding Diversity Dialogues little progress except for the inclusion of gays <br />and lesbians as part of our community's dialogues. <br />� Plan a 2013 program on cultural dive�si , and app�eciation to occu� late summer <br />o� fall of 2013 (03-11-201.
