Vice chair Brisbois invited them to join the <br />Commission at the table. <br />Mr. Grefenberg indicated that the opportunity to receive a grant froin the Meadowlark Institute <br />had been brou�ht to him after the last Commission meetin� and with only ten days before the <br />�rant deadline on December 29th. He immediatel,v notified staff of the �rant's availabilitv and <br />the HRC's Operations Committee, and then worlced with Me�an Dushin, a member of the HRC's <br />Civic Enga�ement Task Force and the resident who had first brou hg t the grant to his attention, in <br />developin�a rg ant a�lication. <br />69 The _ra�nt a�plication was far a Roseville Communit.�gue � �, <br />70 �^�'�'���p-a�t�e�*���e�� to converse about ideas for violence prevention in the <br />71 community. He explained a grant application ���'�°°r �';��„��°�' was bein� considered to assist <br />72 with the expense of a professional facilitator for the event. Chair Grefenberg requested the HRC <br />73 discuss the proposed event and � confirm the grant �application which occurred <br />74 between Commission meetin�s. <br />75 <br />76 Megan Dushin stated she be�an the grant application �with � informal communications <br />77 with �+�e the City Council aslcing if there was interest in a community-wide dialog on <br />7s violence prevention. The Mayor suggested she work with the HRC on this issue. <br />79 <br />80 Chair Grefenberg stated after hearing about the proposed dialogue, he'�r^„^�'�++'�° ��++°r +^ c+^�� <br />81 �t�-g�t-��a�����°*�� thought the gran�t �'��'^m�° ° ° was appropriate <br />82 to assist in the Commission's Community Dialogue series approved in the fall of 20ll, and so <br />83 consulted with the Chair of the Commission's Program Planning Committee and the Operations <br />84 Committee which acts as an executive committee in between Commission meetings.g� <br />gs r��*�^�° *'��* �T�°r°'�°'�"��* �". He���-asked whether there were any comments and <br />86 suggestions from the group on this matter. <br />s7 <br />88 <br />89 <br />90 <br />91 <br />92 <br />93 <br />Ms. Dushin further discussed the grant application explaining it would cover the expense of two <br />half-day community dialogues in Roseville on the topic of interpersonal violence ranging from <br />playground bullying to more harmful criminal acts, and its prevention. The goals of the events <br />are to bring the Roseville community together to examine the complex factars that contribute to <br />violence, and to identify what the community can do to prevent violence. <br />
