He indicated their priorities at this time were violence prevention, mental illness stigmatization, and cultural diversity, and then in a secondar�priority categorv su�porting the programs of others on gay rights and other human rights issues. Vice Chair Brisbois was pleased with the focus these priorities would provide to the Program Planning Committee. Chair's Report 155 Chair Grefenberg provided the members with his monthly report as contained in the 156 Commissioners' packet. He congratulated Commissioners Singleton and Becker for their � 57 appointment to the group. He looked forward to working with these rea�pointed �� 158 Commissioners for the next three years. 159 i6o 161 162 163 164 165 166 167 168 169 170 171 172 173 174 175 176 177 178 Student Essav Contest Commissioner Thao requested the Student Essay Contest item be discussed at this time, as she had to leave the meeting early. Ms. Curti provided the Commission with the 30 essays in need of scoring and requested the members review the essays, score each according to the point scale and provide the scoring to Staff by February 8. She noted the essays would be discussed further by the HRC at the February 20 meeting. She explained a presentation would be made to the Council on March 18. Chair Grefenberg requested Commissioner Thao be present at the March 18 Council meeting far the essay winner presentation and reception. He su�gested the Council presentation follow the same outline as last _year, and asked the Youth Engagement Committee to �lan for both the reception and presentation. Commissioner Thao �� a�reed to assist with this ��reception and presentation. Chair's Reuort Continued 179 2013 Meeting Schedule: Chair Grefenberg commented the group should plan to meet the third 18o Wednesday of each month in 2013 given the projected workload. The group should also add to 181 their calendar the March 18 Council meeting, along with the Rose Parade. 182 183 184 185 186 187 188 189 Vice Chair Brisbois moved and Commissioner Becker seconded a motion to approve the 2013 meeting dates as outlined in the packet. Motion passed unanimously. Committee Assignments: Chair Grefenberg discussed the current standing committee assignments and �� members, referrin� the Commission to a list and description of current HRC committees in their meetin�packets.
