<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 3/18/13 <br /> Item No.: 7.f <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve a Resolution for the Final Acceptance and Maintenance for <br />Public Improvements Constructed for JOSEPHINE WOODS <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />B ACKGROUND 1 <br />On August 8, 2011, the City Council approved a public improvement contract for JOSEPHINE 2 <br />WOODS. This 28 lot single family residential development encompassed the vacant land in the 3 <br />northwest corner of Lexington and County Road C-2. The improvements constructed by Pulte 4 <br />Homes, included the construction of Maple Lane and Dunlap Street as shown on the Plat, 5 <br />sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer improvements. All public improvements for this 6 <br />development were completed in 2012. 7 <br />The City worked with their Engineer during construction to ensure the improvements were 8 <br />installed according to approved plans and City specifications. 9 <br />P OLICY O BJECTIVE 10 <br />The City Policy requires the following steps be completed to finalize the construction project: 11 <br /> 12 <br /> Certification from the civil engineer in charge of the project verifying that all work has been 13 <br />completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. 14 <br /> A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the two-year warranty 15 <br />period. 16 <br />F INANCIAL I MPACTS 17 <br />Since this was a developer initiated project, the City did not contribute to the cost to construct 18 <br />these public improvements. 19 <br />S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION 20 <br />All necessary items have been completed in accordance with project plans and specifications. 21 <br />Since all items have been completed as outlined in the policy regarding final project acceptance, 22 <br />staff recommends the City Council approve a resolution accepting the public improvements. 23 <br />R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION 24 <br />Approve a resolution accepting the public improvements Constructed for JOSEPHINE WOODS. 25 <br />Prepared by: Debra Bloom, City Engineer <br />Attachments: A: Resolution
