REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: 3/18/13 Item No.: 7.f Department Approval City Manager Approval Item Description: Approve a Resolution for the Final Acceptance and Maintenance for Public Improvements Constructed for JOSEPHINE WOODS Page 1 of 1 B ACKGROUND 1 On August 8, 2011, the City Council approved a public improvement contract for JOSEPHINE 2 WOODS. This 28 lot single family residential development encompassed the vacant land in the 3 northwest corner of Lexington and County Road C-2. The improvements constructed by Pulte 4 Homes, included the construction of Maple Lane and Dunlap Street as shown on the Plat, 5 sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer improvements. All public improvements for this 6 development were completed in 2012. 7 The City worked with their Engineer during construction to ensure the improvements were 8 installed according to approved plans and City specifications. 9 P OLICY O BJECTIVE 10 The City Policy requires the following steps be completed to finalize the construction project: 11 12  Certification from the civil engineer in charge of the project verifying that all work has been 13 completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. 14  A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the two-year warranty 15 period. 16 F INANCIAL I MPACTS 17 Since this was a developer initiated project, the City did not contribute to the cost to construct 18 these public improvements. 19 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION 20 All necessary items have been completed in accordance with project plans and specifications. 21 Since all items have been completed as outlined in the policy regarding final project acceptance, 22 staff recommends the City Council approve a resolution accepting the public improvements. 23 R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION 24 Approve a resolution accepting the public improvements Constructed for JOSEPHINE WOODS. 25 Prepared by: Debra Bloom, City Engineer Attachments: A: Resolution
