indicated the upcoming community dialogues on violence were scheduled for <br />Tuesday, April 30th at 5:15 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 14th at 5:15 p.m. The <br />dialogues would be held at the skating center. <br />Commissioner Doneen then provided the Commission with additional information on <br />the planned community dialogues. She noted people would meet in small groups <br />and would discuss a list of questions. From these discussions, information /issues <br />would be harvested by the facilitators. It was noted that two facilitators would be <br />used at the event, whose estimated services would cost $1,500. <br />Chair Grefenberg then advised the Commission that, in consultation with Program <br />Planning Committee chair Doneen, $500 had been moved from another category <br />(PR /Administrative) to the Facilitators category, raising that amount to $1,500, to <br />cover the cost referred to by Commissioner Doneen. <br />Commissioner Doneen stated the youth commissioners would be invited to <br />participate in the event while also encouraging youth to take part in the event. She <br />requested the Commission consider having a meal provided at the community <br />dialogues to increase participation. <br />After some discussion on what previous community forums or dialogues had cost, <br />Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner Singleton seconded a motion to <br />authorize the Program Planning Committee a supplemental $500 from the HRC's City <br />allocation for additional costs such as the provision of beverages and food. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions (LHRC) <br />Essay Awards Luncheon April 27th in Roseville: Unlike previously reported the <br />Commission would not pay for the cost of this luncheon. <br />Selection of Alternate to Represent Commission: Chair Grefenberg indicated the <br />League of Minnesota Cities Human Rights Commission met seven or eight times a <br />year and he was currently the City of Roseville's liaison. He was recently made aware <br />that he could have an alternate and questioned if anyone on the H RC was willing to <br />serve in this capacity, as he may not be able to attend some of the next five <br />meetings. <br />Commissioner Doneen asked if a youth commissioner could serve as Joan Dao has <br />expressed an interest in serving. Chair Grefenberg stated this would be acceptable. <br />Chair Grefenberg commented he was available to attend the April 27th meeting. Vice <br />Chair Brisbois volunteered to attend the May 19th League of Minnesota Cities Human <br />Rights Commission meeting. <br />Chair Grefenberg indicated he would bring this issue up again next month and <br />volunteers could be requested for the June and July meetings. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Committees and Other Reports <br />Program Planning Committee: There was nothing additional to report. <br />
