Grefenberg recommended Rosenberg Rules of Order be followed at all meetings, as <br />this would be consistent with the City Council. <br />Commissioner Doneen questioned how the Action Steps column should be <br />understood. Chair Grefenberg stated these were items to be addressed or worked <br />on going into the future. <br />Chair Grefenberg indicated the HRC would have two youth commissioner openings <br />this summer and would need to seek replacement candidates. Ms. Curti <br />recommended the position be advertised prior to the end of the school year to assure <br />the new youth members could be appointed before October. <br />Mr. Grefenberg noted the Listsery was updated after he finally provided staff with the <br />sign in sheets from last fa I I's various events. He encouraged the HRC to continue <br />seeking contact info from residents interested in receiving information and updates <br />from the Human Rights Commission. <br />Chair Grefenberg said the City Council had encouraged the HRC to be further <br />involved with ethnic minority groups. He explained the RoseFest Parade in June may <br />be a great opportunity for such involvement. This could be done by having minority <br />groups as a part of the parade, suggesting sig nape identifying the diversity of <br />Rosevi I le's population. <br />Vice Chair Brisbois suggested that instead - invitations could be sent to ethnic or <br />minority families inviting their children to walk with the HRC in the parade as this <br />would celebrate Rosevi I le's diversity. <br />Commissioner Groff indicated the Outreach Committee would draft a letter for this <br />event. <br />Chair Grefenberg discussed the potential for a Civic Engagement Task Force, <br />including whether its future was as an independent commission or a Commission <br />task force. <br />Grefenberg also indicated Commissioner Dao had recommended consideration of a <br />2013 program to begin this fall addressing Cultural Diversity and Appreciation. He <br />noted Violence Prevention would be addressed this spring during two Community <br />Dialogues on April 30th and May 14th. <br />Vice Chair Brisbois and Commissioner Groff thanked Chair Grefenberg for his work on <br />the Strategic Plan. <br />Commissioner Singleton moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded a motion to <br />approve the 2013 -2014 Strategic Plan. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Staff Report: Carolyn Curti had nothing to report. <br />Future Agenda Items: Chair Grefenberg summarized previously mentioned items <br />to be discussed at the April meeting, noting the essay contest process and the youth <br />commissioner appointments and - selection process would be placed on the upcoming <br />agenda. <br />Adjournment: Commissioner Singleton moved and Commissioner Doneen <br />
