REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: May 13, 2013 <br /> Item No.: <br />7.j <br />Department Approval <br /> City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve Joint Powers Agreement with the City of St. Paul for a Connection <br />to their Records Management System <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />In 2004, the City of Roseville entered into a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) with the City of St. <br />2 <br />Paul to provide Wireless Field Reporting and Records Management System for the Roseville <br />3 <br />Police Department. <br />4 <br />In 2009, the Police Department was awarded a federal grant and, over the next two years, <br />5 <br />migrated to another provider for Wireless Field Reporting and Records Management System. <br />6 <br />Since that time, the Police Department has kept one license to access historical police data in St. <br />7 <br />Paul’s system. <br />8 <br />St. Paul is updating its JPA’s with all entities it serves. <br />9 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />10 <br />11 <br />The Roseville Police Department meets all requirements as set forth by the JPA and it has been <br />12 <br />reviewed and approved by Roseville’s City Attorney’s Office. <br />13 <br />BI <br />UDGETMPLICATIONS <br />14 <br />There are no additional budgetary implications. <br />15 <br />16 <br />SR <br />Authorize the City of Roseville to enter into the updated JPA with <br />TAFF ECOMMENDATION <br />17 <br />the City of St. Paul. <br />18 <br />RCA <br />EQUESTEDOUNCILCTION <br />19 <br />Authorize the City of Roseville to enter into the updated JPA with the City of St. Paul. <br />20 <br />Prepared by: Chief Rick Mathwig <br />Attachments: A: Joint Powers Agreement <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />
