2.5.2Floodplains <br />Areas of Roseville prone to larger regional flooding near surface water sources have been <br />identified and mapped by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the <br />National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the City <br />th <br />, 2010. Figure 14 displays the special flood <br />of Roseville were recently published on June 6 <br />hazard areas mapped by FEMA. <br />While the 1 percent chance flood hazard areas (Zones A and AE) a4, it <br />is important to recognize that the areas designated as Zone X (tportions of the <br />City) may still have potential for flooding. <br />2.5.3Groundwater <br />Roseville is served by the St. Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) which supplies <br />drinking water to the City of St. Paul and neighboring communiti <br />Water Service is supplied primarily by surface water from the Mi <br />approximately 7% of all the water they provide is groundwater. I <br />porous unconsolidated sand and gravel glacial deposits and fract <br />sandstone bedrock formations act as aquifers. Because drinking water in the City is provided by the St. Paul <br />Regional Water Service and the City does not own any public water supply wells, the City <br />has not prepared a Wellhead Protection Plan. <br />2.5.4Pollution Sources <br />Information on individual pollutant sources is available from the MPCAs Whats In My <br />Neighborhood? (WIMN) online tool. This detailed information has not been included here <br />as it is subject to frequent change and may be obtained by calling the MPCA or by visiting <br />www.pca.state.mn.us) which has information on various pollutant <br />the MPCAs website ( <br />sources and related regulatory programs. A map identifying site locations (as of 07/16/12) is <br />displayed in Figure 16.
