th <br />At your June 10meeting, after the joint meeting with the City Council, it is anticipated that you <br />will have additional preliminary plans to review, provide input and consider a recommendation on. <br />The selection process for the Playground Vendorand the Natural Resource Specialistare <br />complete. Landscape Structures/Flagship Recreation has been selected and approved by the City <br />Councilas the playground vendor andStantec Inc. has been selected andapproved asthe <br />Natural Resource project identification consultant. <br />Request for Proposals (RFP’s) have been released for a final design contract to include the <br />development offinal plans, specifications and construction documents to get to the point of <br />seeking proposals on actual construction. The BestValue PIPS process will be used to evaluate <br />the proposals and Chair D. Holt has agreed to be a part of the evaluation team. This will be a very <br />important next step in the process and we will keep you informed and will appreciate any input <br />and advice from you along the way. <br />Staff will continueto work with the City Attorney, LHB and Arizona State University on the <br />approach for RFP’s for actual construction. <br />Commissioner Doneenand staff will provide any progress information on the Natural Resource <br />andTrails Subcommitteeto you at the meeting. <br />Included in your packet is a list of upcoming park/project specific meetings. You are always <br />welcome to attend any or all of the meetings. <br />Please continue to reviewthe City website “Park and Recreation Renewal”tab and provide input <br />as you can. Commissioners Simbeck and Wallhave agreed to <br />bepart of a task force with staff to gather and bring back information to the Commission for further <br />discussion and input.
