Holt,Simbeck, Stoner and <br />6Wall <br />ABSENT: <br />7None <br />STAFF: <br />8Brokke, Evenson <br />OTHERS: <br />9Jason Etten, Michael Schroeder, LHB <br />10 <br />INTRODUCTIONS/ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />111. <br />12None <br />13 <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES –MARCH 5,2013MEETING <br />142. <br />Commission Recommendation: <br />15Minutes for the March5, 2013meeting were approved as <br />16presented with Commissioners Azer and Wall abstaining because theywerenot at the <br />17meeting. <br />18 <br />ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO NEW COMMISSIONERS <br />193. <br />20Chair Holt administered the Oath ofOffice to newly appointed Commissioners Philip <br />21Gelbach and Jerry Stoner.The Commission welcomedthe new Commissioners. <br />22 <br />RECOGNIZE FORMER COMMISSIONER AND CHAIR JASON ETTEN <br />234. <br />24Staff presented the 2012Board and CommissionAwardon behalf of the Minnesota <br />25Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA) former Commission Chair, Jason Etten.The <br />26award is presentedannuallyto one member of a citizenadvisory or policy making park board <br />27in the State of Minnesota in the parks and recreation field. Mr. Etten received this award for <br />28his leadership in working with the Commission, the community,City Council and City staff <br />29tohelpcreate the future direction forRoseville Parks and Recreation throughthe Master Plan <br />30and Parks and Recreation Renewal Program. <br />31 <br />32Mr. Etten thanked the Commission and the MRPA as he accepted theaward on behalf of the <br />33Commission and the community and that it involved a lot of people. Mr. Etten mentioned <br />34that he looked forward to working with the community and Commissionagain on furthering <br />35the vision for the implementation effort. <br />36 <br />37Commissioners congratulated Mr. Etten for this much deserving award. <br />38 <br />PARKS ANDRECREATION RENEWAL PROGRAM <br />395. <br />40Staff introduced Michael Schroeder from LHB. Schroeder explained the process used to get <br />41to the preliminary plans and presented the following first sets: <br />42Harriet Alexander Nature Center (in collaboration with FORHANC and FOR Parks) <br />43Lexington Park <br />44Villa Park <br />45Autumn Grove Park <br />46 <br />47HANC <br />48The Commission discussion, commentsand considerationsonthe HANCplans included <br />49items such as the boardwalk railing,overall accessibility compliance,wetland waterlevels, <br />50environmental design efforts including use of recyclablesand reclaimed steel,indoor and <br /> <br />
