Access Contractors are required to keep the roads passable and provide driveway access whenever possible. The construction project will be staged so that residents and emergency vehicles will be able to drive on the street at all times. If you have special access needs, please contact Glen Hoffard. Sanitary Sewer Services The maintenance of your sewer service from the sewer main to your house is your responsibility. If you have a history of back -ups or have to clean your service frequently, it may be to your advantage to get an estimate to replace your service under the street at this time. Please contact Deb Bloom if you are interested. Private Driveway Work Certain private construction services will be offered to you by the City's contractor. These include: • Widening your driveway. • Replacing/ changing existing driveway pavement. The cost of additional driveway work would be funded 100% by the property owner. If you are interested in these services, please complete and return the enclosed form by Friday, May 31, 2013. We will request that our contractor contact you and provide you with an estimate to complete the requested work. We recommend that you contact other driveway contractors to obtain comparison quotes. Utility Flags To protect against underground utility damage, the Contractor will be calling in utility locates. This is required for anyone digging a hole, whether it is to plant a tree or rebuild a street. Xcel Energy, Comcast and CenturyLink will locate their underground utilities by spray painting and placing flags in the boulevard. Please do not remove these flags. Mail Delivery The construction work should not significantly impact your mail delivery. A bank of mailboxes will be installed at a nearby corner. Once the banks are installed, mailboxes will be removed by the contractor and given to you to store for the duration of the project. Following construction, your mailbox will be reinstalled as close as possible to its original location or a location specified by you. Safety Residents should use caution at all times while driving through the construction zone and be alert for moving equipment, holes, trenches and other hazards in the work zone. Your assistance in maintaining a safe work area is important. The noise and dust created by construction traffic make it difficult for workers to watch onlookers. Heavy equipment operators must concentrate on the job at hand and may not notice children playing near or behind equipment. Please remind children to stay clear of the construction area and equipment both during workina and non - workina hours. Survey Markers In order to perform the project construction, engineers place a series of survey markers (wooden stakes) for the Contractor to measure from. Typically, these markers are offset several feet from the object or point they refer to so that they are not disturbed during the construction process. As a result, these offset markers are often placed well into residents' yards. Contact Us!
