1W1*SFAC+-E
Number 1
The County Road D reconstruction project will
begin in late May/ early June. However, the
Contractor has indicated that they will be removing
trees on the road in preparation for the project this
week.
This project consists of the complete reconstruction
of the street, as well as watermain replacement,
storm sewer installation, and sidewalk construction.
Before the project starts, we wanted to provide you
with some information.
A full schedule is not available at this time. Once it
is available, it will be posted on the project website.
Major construction work will be staged so it will not
interfere with school. All work should be completed
by October 2013.
Private Improvements in the Right of Way
To complete this project the contractor will be
digging up most of the City's right- of- way. If you
have underground sprinklers, electric wiring for
yard lights, perennial gardens, or invisible fences
installed within 20 feet of the edge of the pavement,
it is likely that they are in the City's right- of- way.
Removal and reinstallation of these items is the
responsibility of the property owner. We
recommend that you mark the location of
underground wires or sprinklers immediately.
Please remove these items from the City right- of-
way before June 3, 2013. If you have questions
about construction limits, or cannot meet this
deadline, please contact Glen Hoffard.
If these items are not removed, the contractor will
damage them when they start construction. The
City will not pay to repair or replace these systems
or gardens.
Gas Main Replacement
Xcel Gas has informed the City that they intend to
replace the gas main on the south side of the
street. This work is managed by Xcel, who will be
sending out separate notifications.
Garbage/ Recycling pick up
The construction work should not impact your
garbage pick- up.
Attachment C
County Road D
Reconstruction Project
Sanitary Sewer Main Repair
Assessments
A portion of the costs for this project will be
assessed to individual property owners. The
Feasibility Report for this project set the maximum
assessment rate at $60 per foot.
May 14, 2013
{
Final assessment amounts are based on actual
construction costs and will be determined following
an assessment hearing in the Fall of 2014.
Property owners will have the option to pay all or a
portion of the assessments up front in October
2014 without interest, or have the balance added to
their property taxes over the course of 15 years at
the market interest rate. The first installment of the
assessment would be due with property taxes in
Spring 2015.
Project Contacts:
The City of Shoreview will be managing the
construction contract for this project. Please
direct scheduling and construction questions to:
Glen Hoffard, Project Coordinator
(651) 490 -4659
ghoffard(a)-shoreviewmn.gov
For assessment questions, general project
questions and concerns, please contact:
Deb Bloom, City Engineer
(651) 792 -7042
i deb.bloom(a)ci.roseville.mn.us
Check for construction updates at: www.cityofroseville.com /cordd
