In addition, it would appear
30
some of the duties currently done by Communication staff can be reallocated within the
31
department. It also is apparent that the part-time Office Assistant should be made full-time to
32
assist the Human Resources Manager as well as other work.
33
An important part of the discussion is to determine what, if any, new financial resources need to
34
be provided to make the necessary adjustments.
35
PO
OLICYBJECTIVE
36
The City-wide organizational structure should meet the needs and expectations of tax payers for
37
services and programs. As part of that ongoing commitment, it is important to review the current
38
organizational structure and allocation of resources to ensure that these needs are being met.
39
BI
UDGET MPLICATIONS
40
Undetermined at this time.
41
SR
TAFF ECOMMENDATION
42
Staff asks that the City Council provide input on potential changes in the Administration
43
Department for providing services. Based on Council input, as well as Department Head and
44
other staff input, the Interim City Manager will draft organizational structure options to be
45
considered and further discussed.
46
RCA
EQUESTED OUNCIL CTION
47
Provide input on the type and level of services that the Administration Department should be
48
providing the residents and businesses, the City Council, and City staff.
49
Prepared by: Patrick Trudgeon, Interim City Manager
Attachments: A: Memo from Duane Schwartz, Public Works Direct, regarding department needs.
