REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 6/17/13 <br /> Item No.: 7.e <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />PW2013-13 <br />Item Description: Adopt resolution Approving Cost Participation Agreement <br />between Ramsey County and the City of Roseville for Larpenteur Avenue <br /> <br />construction work <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />Ramsey County is performing a concrete rehabilitation project on Larpenteur Avenue between <br />2 <br />Oxford Street and Dale Street. The project includes the removal of bad concrete panels, the <br />3 <br />rehabilitation of bad joints, and an overall grinding of the surface to provide a smoother ride. <br />4 <br />Also included in this project are ADA pedestrian improvements for the intersection at Fernwood <br />5 <br />Avenue and at Victoria Street. The improvements include the installation of ADA compliant <br />6 <br />pedestrian ramps, Audible Pedestrian System components and countdown timers for the <br />7 <br />crosswalks. <br />8 <br />The construction cost participation and future maintenance responsibilities for the signal at <br />9 <br />Larpenteur Avenue and Fernwood Avenue is shared based on the jurisdiction of the streets at the <br />10 <br />intersection. The City of Roseville is responsible for 25% of the signal costs at this intersection. <br />11 <br /> Ramsey County is responsible for 50% and St. Paul is responsible for the remaining 25%. <br />12 <br />PO <br />OLICYBJECTIVE <br />13 <br />The cost participation proposed in this agreement is consistent with the signal agreement and <br />14 <br />PW2013-13 <br />Ramsey County’s cost participation policy. A copy of Agreement is attached.
